Dawn McCauley is the Director of the IT Center of Excellence (COE) in the Office of the CIO Office. The COE is a focal point for the strategic and effective definition and delivery of IT services across the University. The office plays a central role in influencing the University’s IT service management and project management strategies.
Dawn is assisting the campus IT leadership team in developing the overall service vision and strategy that focuses on aligning IT services with the core mission and needs of the University. She is leading the work on IT Project Intake & Process Improvement. Other responsibilities include defining IT services from business-centric, outcome- and value-focused perspectives that are meaningful to academic, business and administrative stakeholders. She also manages the definition and architecture of services, establishes effective IT Service Management (ITSM) and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) governance structures, processes, and best practices that are consistent with IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards for implementing, maintaining, and improving IT services standards; addressing the University’s evolving needs; and supporting strategic IT services.
Creation and management of the IT service inventory (and eventual catalog) are also a responsibility of the COE.
