Mission, values and history
Our mission is to foster a strong, connected IT community at UW–Madison. We value:
- Inclusivity and respect for all participants
- Open and honest communication
- Continuous learning and growth
- Work-life balance and well-being
UW–Madison IT Connects launched CommunITea in April 2020 in response to the challenges of remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our first session, “Adjusting and adapting your work-life balance during remote work,” set the tone for future gatherings focused on community support and shared experiences.
CommunITea is part of UW-IT Connects, a coalition of volunteer IT professionals from across the university dedicated to breaking down silos by providing resources and opportunities for UW’s IT community to learn and grow together.
