Learning Solutions, the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s central software development group focused on teaching, learning and research applications, is looking to add a personable and enthusiastic full-time software developer to our Teaching & Research Application Development (TRAD) service. The successful candidate will be a good communicator who is comfortable innovating, being creative and being part of a diverse and creative team. The developer in this role will act consultatively with constituents across campus, and will be asked to help faculty and university staff think through solutions to teaching & research challenges. TRAD works in an iterative, phased or small project based fashion, which provides many opportunities to learn new technologies, work with new clients and tackle interesting challenges.
Examples of TRAD’s work include mobile applications for research data collection or situated (location-aware) learning, games and simulations for teaching complex concepts and providing practice situations, and learning analytics and data visualization for educational or research data. Team members are often involved with building modules for courseware, interactive educational websites or research collaboration and dissemination sites.
UW-Madison, founded in 1848, is a world-class institution offering a complete spectrum of liberal arts studies, professional programs and student activities to over 40,000 students.
