Jeanne Skül (pronounced school) has been named Division of Information Technology (DoIT) Director of Network Services at the University of Wisconsin-Madison after a distinguished 30-year career in higher education information technology.
“We are very excited to be adding Jeanne to the DoIT management team,” says DoIT Chief Operating Officer John Krogman. “In addition to her background in IT infrastructure, as a former CIO, she brings strong credentials and experience in strategic planning, project management, collaborative leadership and personnel development. She is known as a superb communicator skilled at building relationships by emphasizing customer service, employee engagement, innovation and teamwork.”
The Director Of Network Services is responsible for the operation and seamless delivery of technology services to the UW-Madison campus, UW System, and to other users of DoIT systems and services. The team also ensures a solid network and telecommunications infrastructure is always in place on a 24×7 schedule.
“The reputation of the University of Wisconsin and the Division of Information Technology is highly regarded in higher education,” says Skül. “I feel honored to join the team and look forward to building relationships and participating in developing, planning, and implementing goals, projects and initiatives for network services.” Skül comes to the UW from the University Of South Carolina Upstate, where she served as the Vice Chancellor of Information Technology since 2006. Previous positions include Vice President for Information Technology, and Director of Network Services at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.
She will begin in her new role on March 30.
