Office update for Mac brings real-time collaboration

A recent update for Office 365 allows users to collaborate in real time on the desktop version of Office 2016 for Mac.

Office 365 subscribers who use the desktop version on a Mac can get the updates by clicking on “Help” then go to “Check for Updates.”

To use this feature, be sure to save your document or file in OneDrive, not on your local desktop. Once you save it to OneDrive, it automatically turns on AutoSave, another recently added feature.

You can start sharing the document by clicking “Share” on the top right-hand side. Simply type in the names or email addresses to invite others to work on the document. An icon on the top right-hand side notifies you when another person is working on the document at the same time. You can view version history for a list of changes or to roll back to an earlier version.

Plus, more functions which allow you to shorten the formulas you write using the new logical functions IFS and SWITCH.
