Please join us on August 15 for ‘Amazon Campus Days,’ an interactive session for those who are interested in or are currently using Amazon Web Services (AWS). The event will be held from 9am–5pm at the Pyle Center (room 332).
A short discussion on “Why you would use AWS” will start the day followed by hands-on labs. After lunch, we will offer one-on-one sessions with Ryan Kolak from Amazon to discuss your particular environments and how AWS services might best meet your needs.
UW–Madison and Amazon AWS technologists (Steve Tanner, DoIT Systems Engineering and Operations, and Ryan Kolak, Amazon Senior Solutions Architect) will help lead the morning sessions. Attendees will need to bring their own laptop in order to participate in the labs.
Because space is limited, please register for the event by August 15. We may not be able to accept all applications. We will notify you via email whether a space has been reserved for you or if you’ve been added to a wait list.
9 – 10am: Presentation
Orientation to Amazon Web Services (AWS): Why you might use AWS. Please note, this session is a repeat from the July 25 session.
10am – 12noon: Labs
As you think about how you might use AWS in the future, labs will address both basic compute and advanced usage of AWS. A laptop is needed for participation in the labs.
Please note: Labs will be a repeat of those offered previous ‘Amazon Campus Days’ sessions
1 – 5pm: One-on-One sessions with Ryan
Please register for a 1-hour session with an Amazon technologist. You’ll have the opportunity to discuss your personal use case for AWS and get your questions answered. Sessions are offered from 1-2pm, 2-3pm, 3-4pm and 4-5pm.
