Keynote: ‘Together, we rise’

Laura McCain Patterson, former chief information officer for the University of Michigan, will keynote the 2024 Information & Technology Leadership Conference.

We’re thrilled to welcome Laura McCain Patterson, former University of Michigan chief information officer, as the keynote speaker for this conference.

In her keynote address, Patterson will draw from her remarkable tenure at Michigan, where she:

  • Led the digital transformation of university operations
  • Built an extensive data infrastructure that drives the university today
  • Successfully moved technology to scale by consolidating on-premise systems
  • Leveraged cloud offerings to advance teaching and research missions
  • Fostered strong partnerships between IT and academic departments

Now a leadership coach and consultant with MOR Associates, Patterson works one-on-one with IT leaders across higher education. Her keynote will explore the leadership capabilities and strategies crucial for UW–‍Madison’s initiatives, sharing practical lessons from her successes and setbacks in leading enterprise-wide change.
