Gradescope is now available to all faculty and instructors through the Learn@UW suite of teaching and learning tools. While some courses were already using this teaching tool, support within DoIT Academic Technology ensures that it is available campus-wide.
What is Gradescope?
Gradescope is a tool designed to streamline the grading process, allowing for faster and more consistent grading, while also facilitating detailed feedback to students. Its features include:
- Dynamic rubrics
- AI-powered grouping of similar responses
- Canvas integration

Learn@UW will host 2 introductory training sessions for instructors this month. Presented content will be the same in each session.

Topic: This 30-minute session provides an overview of Gradescope, the newest tool in the Learn@UW suite. Gradescope augments the existing grading functions within Canvas and is available as an opt-in tool beginning this semester (Fall 2025). The primary topics for this session are:
- Demonstrating how to access Gradescope in Canvas. (This includes creating your Gradescope account.)
- A tour of the tool’s dashboard on the external website
- How to properly sync rosters and grades
