Join us for monthly project updates!

The DoIT Service Management Subteam is an informal group that meets monthly to discuss tools and processes related to the DoIT Operational Framework and new developments in our ITSM tool. Email us to join the Subteam

Next Subteam meeting: Nov 12, 1pm via Teams

Meeting agenda

  • Project team: Featuring a decision point which has surfaced around outbound mail. Due to some constraints from both the new tool (Ivanti Neurons) and Microsoft 365, we need to determine how to configure our outbound email accounts.
  • Attendees: Share feedback, questions and concerns focused on the email configuration topic.

Progress from the past month

In sprint 15, the project team paused development to look more broadly at the project. We focused on UX testing, reporting capabilities and documentation. In sprints 16 and 17, the team worked on the following epics:

Change management

  • Creating an emergency change request
  • Configuring linking services with required CIs on a change to the change request

Configuration management

  • Continuing the test import of configuration item (CI) data into the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), including the relationship data to map CIs together

Integrations

  • Configuring Neurons for a Manifest integration to enable us to define support contracts for DTS and SMPH
  • Configure the KB import to replicate existing KCS processes

Problem management

  • Readying the problem and outage objects to begin UX testing

System configuration

  • Build out the team management aspect of the tool
  • Continue working with the PersonAPI data to identify jobs and supervisory structure of a supported customer

What’s next

In the last week of November the WiscIT team will focus on a necessary upgrade to Cherwell to keep the current tool in support. The sprint will largely consist of work to support this upgrade, but will also include smaller, more manageable stories related to knowledge management and configuration items.
