Jamie Gutkowski named first ETSM Director
A message from Dave Pagenkopf, Deputy Chief Information Officer.
Colleagues,
I’m pleased to announce that Jamie Gutkowski has accepted the role as the first Director of the new Enterprise Technology Services Management (ETSM) department.
Jamie brings a wealth of institutional knowledge, service management and governance expertise, and proven ability to unite partners across UW through complex IT transformations to this new department. Her strategic, collaborative leadership style makes her uniquely suited to help form and integrate ETSM into the university’s IT operations.
Since joining DoIT in 2015 as a Frontend Web Developer, Jamie has advanced to several leadership roles. She served as a team lead, Associate Director of Application Infrastructure Services, Director of User Services, and most recently as IT Director for the IT Federation Program. Before joining UW–Madison, Jamie worked as an educator, small business owner and political strategist. She earned her associate degree from Madison College, her bachelor’s degree from UW–Madison and her master’s in organizational change leadership from UW–Platteville.
Jamie asked me to share this message as she steps into this new role: “I am excited for the opportunity to lead ETSM and to build on the collaborative work we’ve been doing in the IT Federation Program. I look forward to partnering with colleagues across the university to deliver cohesive, sustainable and people-centered IT services that support UW–Madison’s mission.”
Over the next few months, Jamie will work collaboratively with DoIT staff and university partners to plan next steps for forming the ETSM department. As part of her duties, she will continue her leadership role with the IT Federation Program.
Thank you to the members of the Search & Screen Committee for their time, leadership and dedication: Tadd Smejkal (chair), Will Crickman, Eric Giefer, Tammie Hodgson, Steph Johnson, Jeremy Maritz, Bobby Jo Morse, Alan Ng and Hannah Pringle.
Please join me in congratulating Jamie!
Kind regards,
Dave Pagenkopf
