UW–Madison faculty and staff should note that the Engage eReader has recently transitioned from RedShelf to VitalSource.

While the overall experience remains similar and materials continue to be delivered directly through Canvas, some features and functionality have changed. We recommend taking a few minutes before the semester begins to explore the VitalSource eReader if you’re using an Engage eText for the upcoming fall semester. You can also review the eReader functionality details and accessibility information.

Important things to note:

• The transition from RedShelf to VitalSource is complete.
• Students will continue to access their Engage materials through Canvas.
• Notes and highlights will need to be recreated in the new eReader.
• Some navigation, workflows and features differ from the previous eReader.
• Third-party cookies need to be enabled to access the eText.
