On Friday, January 10, the printing service on doit-printserve (Departmental Support’s legacy print server) will be disabled in preparation for server decommission as it’s operating system has reached the end of support. Any print queues identified as still in use have had equivalent queues created on the new print server, dds-printserver, but a number of users may still be printing via the old server for a variety of reasons (most commonly using non-GPO user maps that have not been removed). Some steps have been taken to reduce the number of such machines, but we expect there will likely be a small number of users who may run into issues.
Should there be any configuration issues or something has been overlooked, the server will remain dormant until January 14 in order to resolve any last minute issues.
