What do I need to know?
We will be remotely uninstalling Dell SupportAssist on computers which have this software starting 7/14/2020.
What actions are required?
None. As long as there is an internet connection it will check in with bigfix and uninstall the software. You should not notice anything during the uninstall as the uninstall will be silent. You will also not notice a difference once the software is uninstalled as it was only used by technicians when setting up the computer.
Why is this happening?
Dell Support assist was an application we used to install to update drivers on dell computers. This software is no longer used because has been replaced with dell command update. We are uninstalling the software to prevent confusion when pop ups come up for driver updates from 2 different applications.
