Learn how to safeguard data during Data Privacy Week

Data Privacy Week, January 26-30, is an annual campaign that fosters awareness around the importance of keeping personal information private and secure. While you can’t always control how information about you and your family is gathered or shared, you can take action by managing privacy settings and verifying that your personal information is correct across platforms.

You can also control how you treat data and take steps to protect others’ data through a commitment to data privacy in life and at work.

UW–‍Madison shares a commitment to data privacy at our institution. In celebration of this important awareness effort, we have developed a robust Data Privacy Week web page where you can learn more about:

  • Ways to practice data privacy
  • Guidance for using AI
  • How to protect student data
  • Medical data privacy
  • Techniques to strengthen your own cybersecurity
  • And much more

There are also conversation prompts to help you and your team talk earnestly about data privacy and how to better manage it.
