Cybersecurity Awareness Month

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This year’s theme is: Secure our campus, secure our world. As our personal and professional lives have taken residence online, it has become more important than ever to learn how to keep our data protected.

To make the learning more fun, the Cybersecurity Team has created a daily Cyber Wordle-style game and provided some tips about protecting your data online. They also point to some simple tools and websites that can help you to reduce your risk of a cyber threat. Learn more about these secrets, tools and sites on our website celebrating Cybersecurity Awareness Month (Source: it.wisc.edu). The site includes information on the importance of keeping your software up to date, how to recognize a phishing attempt, and the benefits of using a password manager.

You can also register for a few different panels, all discussing cybersecurity risks and the steps needed for building a more secure digital world.
