Manda Johnson new co-lead, UW Women in IT

Manda JohnsonWe’re pleased to announce that Manda Johnson is the new co-lead of UW Women in IT. She replaces outgoing co-lead Jess Jones.

Manda spent 7 years with DoIT as the VoIP & Unified Communications service delivery lead before accepting a position in 2021 as user support supervisor for the college’s Computer-Aided Engineering. She completed the MOR IT Leaders Program (ITLP) as part of the 2020 UW System cohort. She also serves as a member of the UW IT Connects ITLP Forward steering committee.

Upon submitting interest for the co-lead role February 2022, Manda expressed a keen interest in growing a diverse and inclusive culture. “Diversity and inclusion should not be a one-time campaign,” she wrote. “Progress in these issues requires continuous work that needs to be developed, maintained and cultivated.”

Welcome, Manda!

More UW Women in IT news: We recently welcomed 4 new members to the steering team: Amy Diestler (SMPH), Mehrnaz Ahmadi Joobaneh (ODMAS), Jay Ray (Libraries), and Jeanette School (DoIT/ATP). Plus, 2 members rolled off: Amanda Thornton (OAS) and Adam Hills-Meyer (DoIT). We thank them for their innumerable contributions during their years of service as steering team members.
