Digital Accessibility Web Scanning (DubBot)

The Center for User Experience provides a Digital Accessibility Web Scanning service using DubBot to help UW–‍Madison schools, departments, colleges, and units identify and track common website accessibility issues over time.

This service supports campus by scanning websites for accessibility barriers and providing reports that can be used to prioritize fixes, monitor progress, and better understand web accessibility needs across a site or group of sites.

Requirements

  • A publicly accessible website to be scanned
  • Primary site contact and/or service owner (name, department, division/school/college, and contact information)
  • Optional: details about any authentication/MFA requirements (for sites that are not public)

Getting started

The Digital Accessibility Web Scanning service on campus includes:

  • Website scanning: Automated scans that identify accessibility issues across pages and templates
  • Reporting: Dashboards and reports that summarize issues and trends over time
  • Support: Recommendations to help units focus on high-impact areas and support for technical or accessibility related questions.
  • Ongoing monitoring: Repeated scans to help track progress and identify regressions or newly introduced issues
