There is more to cybersecurity and information security than anti-phishing campaigns and incident response. In fact, cybersecurity is the proactive practice of keeping computer systems and networks safe from potential malicious activities, while information security is the practice of keeping all kinds of information safe—whether it’s on a computer or not. The UW–Madison Office of Cybersecurity is focused on these practices in all aspects of its daily operation.
