Call for Proposals: Cybersecurity Forward 2020 (formerly Lockdown)

Lockdown officially has a new name! Seeing that our name was also a term used for emergency situations, the planning committee sought to find a new one that truly reflected the Wisconsin Idea and the educational and collaborative environment that Lockdown had become. Thank you to everyone who submitted suggestions to help this endeavor. The Office of Cybersecurity is pleased to announce that UW–‍Madison’s Technology and Cybersecurity Conference will now be called Cybersecurity Forward

In 1851, Wisconsin adopted the official state motto, “Forward,” to reflect its continuous drive to be a national leader. This drive to be the best is what Cybersecurity Forward is all about: striving to make UW–‍Madison, our community, and attendees leaders in cybersecurity.

With this new name, we are now seeking session proposals for the Cybersecurity Forward 2020 Conference. Sessions will be 45 minutes each. There will be three different tracks for this year’s Lockdown: technical, strategic, and practical.

Proposals should address how to move audience members and their organizations forward towards a more strategic and proactive approach to cybersecurity. Sessions should deliver at least 2-3 actionable takeaways and are encouraged to engage the audience.

To submit a proposal, please complete this form no later than March 15, 2020 at 11:59 PM CT.  If you have any questions, please reach out to cybersecurityevents@cio.wisc.edu.
