InfoLabs are more than just computer labs — they offer a variety of free services to faculty, staff and students, including equipment checkout.
What kinds of equipment can you check out?
You can check out everything from hardware to A/V equipment to gaming consoles. Visit this KnowledgeBase article to see what equipment is available for checkout at various locations.

Where can I check out equipment?
We offer equipment checkout at 8 InfoLabs across campus:
- Business Library (in Grainger Hall, laptops only)
- College Library (in the Helen C. White building)
- Ebling Library (in the Health Sciences Learning Center)
- Memorial Library
- MERIT Library (in the Teacher Education building)
- School of Computer, Data, and Information Sciences Library
- Social Work Library (laptops only)
- Steenbock Library

How do I check out equipment?
Some equipment can be reserved in advance, while other equipment, such as laptops, is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
To start, see what equipment is available for checkout at different locations. You can also visit this Libraries equipment reservation webpage to learn more about equipment reservations.
Next, make your reservation through WebCheckout.
- In the WebCheckout portal, click new reservation
- Choose the location you want to pick up the technology from
- Review the message of the day
- Click browse catalog and search by keyword, or click on an image to search by category
- Once you’ve found the equipment you want to check out, click the button with a shopping cart icon
- Complete your reservation process, and then head to the InfoLab when it’s time to pick up your equipment
