Computer labs (InfoLabs)

There are twenty one general access computer labs, and eighteen equipment loaning locations conveniently located across campus. The labs offer Internet access and word processing, design, spreadsheet, statistical and course-specific software. The labs also offer color printers, scanners and digital editing resources.

Mission

The UW-Madison InfoLabs program supplements the student educational experience by providing out of the classroom technology enhanced services and solutions.

Requirements

  • Must be a UW-Madison student, faculty or staff member with a valid UW-Madison ID
  • Computer labs located in University Housing open only to UW Housing residents

Options

  • All computers have standard university software (word processing, statistical, design, spreadsheet and course specific)
  • Hardware includes DVD/CD-RW drives, scanners and video editing equipment
  • Most labs offer equipment for loan, see Equipment Loan page
  • Color and black & white laser printing available

Pricing

  • Use of the labs is free
  • Color printing is 60 cents per page
  • Black & white is 7 cents per page
  • Printing charges handled through Wiscard
  • Pay for printing using your Wiscard Account or Print Account
  • Refunds for printing problems are available
