As of March 1, the old Webex Teams app is rebranded as Webex in an interface that consolidates Webex Teams and Webex Meetings into one application. All the functionality that are currently in Webex Meetings are now in the Webex app with more options and features, including chat, Q&A, Webex Assistant and breakout rooms. Additional features including softphone capabilities are forthcoming, as promised by Cisco.
All you need to do to access these new features is log in – and if you’re already signed in, sign out and back in – to see the new application. You may also see a green update icon on the left side of the interface.
In addition to the new consolidated app, Webex recently announced an exciting new virtual assistant feature called Webex Assistant for Meetings. This virtual assistant feature interacts with you in your meetings to help with live closed captioning, notes, action items, reminders, and more by using voice commands.
