Google recently announced new features to help you manage your Google Gemini chats. These features are available in the Gemini desktop and web apps, but not in the mobile app.
Temporary chats: Ask quick one-off questions without cluttering your chat history. Your temporary chat will not be saved to the Gemini app. This is ideal for brainstorming and tasks where you do not need a permanent record of the interaction.
Delete individual chats: Manage and declutter your chat history using the option to delete specific conversations.

- Remember: You must log in to Gemini chat with your NetID to enable enterprise data protection in Google Gemini.
- By default, your Gemini conversations will continue to be saved for 36 months, unless you delete them.
- Temporary chats will not appear in your recent chats.
- Temporary and deleted chats are not recoverable.
