I’m eager to announce that Bobby Jo Morse has accepted the position of Strategic IT Portfolio Management Office (SPMO) director. In this newly created position, Bobby Jo will oversee the DoIT IT Portfolio and Project Management Office (PPMO), including a 20-person team of project managers business analysts and portfolio management professionals.
The PPMO plays a pivotal role in delivering projects that contribute to the university’s mission and vision in collaboration with stakeholders across the university. The director works with leaders in DoIT and university schools, colleges, institutes and divisions, reporting to me as the deputy CIO.
Bobby Jo brings comprehensive experience to the position, having held various leadership and technical positions over the past 20+ years. Most recently, Bobby Jo served as the director of IT Professional Services at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In this role, she led the practices and teams that deliver enterprise IT portfolio management, business analysis, change management and other critical functions to over 30,000 stakeholders. Bobby Jo’s expertise with cross-functional collaboration, project portfolio governance and project management leadership also serve as assets in this role.
Bobby Jo earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in management information systems from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a master’s degree in information systems management from Arizona State University. She also holds Project Management Professional (PMP) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certifications.
I feel fortunate that Bobby Jo is joining our leadership team and bringing such unique qualifications with her professional experience, specialization and continuing education credentials. Bobby Jo’s collaborative and innovative approach will help advance our already exceptional PPMO.
