Improving security: Device compliance notifications coming to WiscVPN
On Wednesday, Nov. 11, device compliance notifications will be enabled on WiscVPN, UW–Madison’s Virtual Private Network (VPN) service.
If you use WiscVPN, and your computer does not meet UW–Madison’s endpoint security standard, you will receive a notification with remediation guidance after you connect using GlobalProtect.
If you receive a notification, you will not be prevented from accessing any network resources. However, we strongly encourage you to correct any device compliance issues.
You play an important part in keeping yourself and our campus cyber secure, regardless of your role. Building good cyber habits and repeating them every day is integral to protecting your personal data and the university’s data.
Device compliance notifications
In early November, we’ll email active WiscVPN users to announce the change.
