On May 9, 2022, Webex Productivity Tools will be replaced by Webex Scheduler as the supported add-in tool for Outlook Desktop Client and Outlook Web Access. The Webex Scheduler install will be deployed automatically and result in a seamless transition for the end user.
What You Need to Know
- Individuals can install the add-in ahead of the May 9 deployment.
- The install does not require that Productivity Tools be uninstalled first. Individuals will have the option to remove the Webex Scheduler add-in after the installation process if they so choose.
- DoIT Desktop Support customers will have Productivity Tools removed from their machines automatically.
- Distributed IT customers will need to uninstall the tool themselves. Those who don’t complete the uninstall now may be required to uninstall this software at a later date.
Background
Productivity Tools is the scheduling tool that enabled users to quickly schedule Webex meetings in Outlook Desktop Client. This tool will no longer function as of July 2022. The tool is currently unsupported on MacOS, and the final release (42.6) for Windows is scheduled for June 2022.
