  • Create a pathway for innovation in educational technology, and support experimentation that leads to the adoption of new tools and techniques that continually modernize the educational experience for learners and instructors.
  • Coordinate across student services to ensure a modern, personalized learner experience.
  • Ensure cohesiveness across all the underlying technology and business services that enable teaching and learning.
  • Enable data-empowered educational practices, advancing learning analytics to become an established part of the university’s strategy for educational achievement, outreach and support. Promote awareness and understanding of the use of analytics in compliance and ethical matters.
  • Provide the technology to enable online programs and student support services.

Key outcomes

  • A common framework that supports experimentation with new technology, provides a decision model for updating the university portfolio, and smooths administrative processes to acquire new tools.
  • Improved inclusion for learners including increased accessibility and personalization, such as names in use and pronouns.
  • Better interoperability between our learning systems which will improve data accuracy and reduce the need for redundant data entry.
  • Widespread use of learning analytics with evidence that faculty, instructional staff and learners are able to use the data to support improved progress.
