Ensure a vibrant, inclusive, exceptional workforce of IT professionals to provide the technology enterprise of the university.

Strategy:

Foster an inclusive and diverse IT community through purposeful efforts to recruit and retain a diverse workforce and to ensure a welcoming culture that encourages a sense of belonging and fosters respect.

Plans

  • Climate: Offer learning opportunities for staff through training, guest speakers, etc., to raise awareness of the elements of a welcoming culture.
  • Structures: Partner and advocate with the Office of Human Resources to improve university structures that promote recruitment and retention.
  • Professional development: Continue to invest in professional development opportunities available to the IT community, including the IT Connects program and tech skills training.
  • Onboarding: Employ broader use of on-boarding techniques, such as mentors and training, to provide a welcoming and information-rich environment for new IT employees.
