Efforts in the Division of Information Technology

DoIT Human Resources staff have collaborated with hiring managers to reframe criteria, prioritize required knowledge and skill, and help managers clearly articulate measurable, inclusive qualifications. A priority has been expanding advertising efforts, including directly sharing job postings with DoIT’s Equity Diversity and Inclusion Committee (EDIC) members to reach more networks.

Through this collaboration, the division strives to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our organization. These efforts include understanding the current recruitment and selection process, such as processes related to job posting, advertisement and screening. Through reviewing data and working with stakeholders, we can identify opportunities and create implementable solutions to improve our recruiting and screening practices.

Our efforts to design inclusion-centered recruitment strategies prioritizes engaging and hiring a diverse group of individuals with various identities, backgrounds, education and work experiences, and life journeys. Through inclusive recruiting practices, we strengthen diversity not only in DoIT, but across campus. Diversity in thoughts and opinions fosters creativity and innovation within our organization as a whole.
