MyUW’s new Course Schedule app received a significant update that adds new functionality and improves the overall user experience.
The Course Schedule app, a collaborative effort between the Office of the Registrar (RO) and the Division of Information Technology (DoIT), launched in June, and provides students a better experience when viewing course and final exam schedules.
On November 21, the app’s first major update rolled out, connecting the course schedule grid to detailed course information, adding a link to the Canvas dashboard, and adding a Course History and Materials tab. That tab provides information about course materials for current and future terms as well as students’ complete course histories.
These additions make it easier for students to find crucial course information at any point by putting key content in a single place that they can access with minimal clicks. They also improve usability on mobile devices.
With the update to the Course Schedule app, the Courses app can be sunset to avoid duplication of information and necessary maintenance. The Courses app is scheduled to be decommissioned on December 5. The old My Courses portlet, which allowed students to view course details and schedules, was similarly decommissioned when the Course Schedule app launched.
