Mission, values and history

Our mission is to foster a strong, connected IT community at UW–‍Madison. We value:

  • Inclusivity and respect for all participants
  • Open and honest communication
  • Continuous learning and growth
  • Work-life balance and well-being

UW–‍Madison IT Connects launched CommunITea in April 2020 in response to the challenges of remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our first session, “Adjusting and adapting your work-life balance during remote work,” set the tone for future gatherings focused on community support and shared experiences.
