October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This year’s theme is Secure our campus, secure our world. As our personal and professional lives have taken residence online, it has become more important than ever to learn how to keep our data protected.
The Cybersecurity team has some tips to share about protecting your online data, and you don’t need to be an IT professional to use them. There are also simple tools and websites that can help you to reduce your risk of a cyber threat. Learn more about these secrets, tools and sites on our website celebrating Cybersecurity Awareness Month (Source: it.wisc.edu).
The site also includes information on the importance of keeping your software up to date, how to recognize a phishing attempt, and the benefits of using a password manager.
If you’re feeling bold, you can enter the Cybersecurity Awareness Month meme contest or register for the interactive Cybersecurity competition. You can also access the annual Cybersecurity Awareness Training, which is required for all employees (and offered to all students).
