Person presenting at a podium in front of an audience

‘Presenting With Skill & Confidence’ workshops return this fall

Information technology professionals must often share their knowledge in public settings, such as the IT Professionals Conference and the Information & Technology Leadership Conference. Yet, presenting in these settings effectively and with self-assurance can be challenging.

To help IT professionals meet that challenge, IT Connects is pleased to bring back the “Presenting With Skill & Confidence” speaker development series. Register now to join us for 3 free online workshops designed to help you develop as a speaker in professional settings.

Can’t make it to all of the workshops? No worries! Participate in as many sessions as work for you. We will share captioned recordings from each session on this page in the week following the workshop.

Session 1: Finding your voice

Hone your public speaking skills by zeroing in on what you’re trying to say, identifying what matters most about your subject and finding ways to help your audience not just understand — but care about what you’re presenting.

  • Date: Tue, Oct 31
  • Time: Noon to 1pm CT

Session 2: Refining your topic

This workshop will walk you through the assertion-evidence method for crafting public presentations, helping you understand what you need to research, define the points you’re trying to make and help them land with your audience.

  • Date: Thu, Nov 9
  • Time: Noon to 1pm CT

Session 3: Practicing together

In this session, you’ll have the opportunity to practice the skills you’ve developed with colleagues and receive feedback in a safe environment about what’s working, how well you’re getting your points across, and what you could try in the future.

  • Date: Thu, Nov 16
  • Time: Noon to 1pm
