What is TechNews?

Welcome to a new school year, Badgers! If this is your first time reading TechNews—or if you need a refresher—here’s what you can expect in your inbox each month:

  • News and information about the applications and IT services you need to learn and work at UW–Madison
  • Tips and “tech hygiene” to help you make the most of technology (Cleared your cache lately?)
  • Scam alerts and ways to stay safe and secure online
  • Information about events and learning opportunities (Want to learn CSS or brush up on Excel? Curious about InDesign, Audacity or programming with Python? Check out all that Software Training for Students has to offer!)
  • And much more

TechNews will hit your inbox the 3rd Wednesday of every month during the academic year, with an exception here and there due to breaks and holidays.

To stay up to date on tech news outside of TechNews, follow the UW–Madison Division of Information Technology (DoIT) on social media. (Hint: It’s also a great way to find out about major technology outages affecting UW–Madison, in addition to checking outages.doit.wisc.edu, your primary source of information when an outage happens.)
