NetID Login

Last updated on February 13, 2026

The NetID Login service offers a simple, secure method for protecting university web resources with NetID-based authentication.

With NetID Login, web application administrators can:

  • Securely and reliably access user data without having to develop their own authentication system
  • Use user details and group information to decide who has access
  • Take advantage of single sign-on features with minimal setup

Note: You do not need a NetID to access the UWNet wireless network as a guest. Learn about creating a UWNet guest account.

Benefits

  • Simple to set up and compatible with all major web hosting environments
  • Provides integration support for both OpenID Connect (OIDC) and Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML)—open standards that are widely available across platforms and natively supported by many services
  • Easily integrate your applications with Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Application administrators receive free best-practice guidance and consulting
  • Redundancy and high availability make NetID Login extremely reliable
  • DoIT manages login support for end users, reducing support time and costs for application administrators
  • Consistent branding across NetID Login helps users focus on content, not account management
