Connecting computer lab IT staff for success
The Computer Lab Administrator’s Community (CLAC) brings together computer lab support staff from across the university to connect, share best practices, and get to know each other. We build bridges and networks across university support units, creating a community of curious technophiles.
What we do
Computer Lab Administrators Community helps create connections between support staff, enabling them to share best practices and build relationships with others who perform similar roles. We focus on:
Sharing best practices for computer lab management
Creatively troubleshoot common issues and share results
Learning hardware and software solutions used in campus labs
Streamlining management practices for efficiency

Mission, values and history
Our mission is to connect centralized and decentralized campus computer lab administrators to share best practices, learn what other labs on campus are doing with hardware and software, creatively troubleshoot solutions, and build community. We aim to bridge silos and increase interdepartmental collaboration and communication.
Computer Lab Administrators Community was founded in 2017 by Ella Tschopik and Sean Griffin. Since its inception, the group has maintained its original concept of connecting folks across campus who use similar tools and creating a community around campus tools, best practices and processes.
CLAC is part of UW-IT Connects, a coalition of volunteer IT professionals from across the university dedicated to breaking down silos by providing resources and opportunities for UW’s IT community to learn and grow together.
