Identity data integration

Identity data integration (IDI) is  the process by which information about UW-Madison and UW System identities (students, faculty, staff, affiliates) is available for applications. This service facilitates the release of identity data specifically intended for use in identification, authentication, authorization and contact management.


  • An application-specific need for information about students, faculty or staff, to be used for official University of Wisconsin administrative or academic purposes.

Getting started

Following submission of the IDI form, an Identity & Access Management technologist will review the request prior to initial contact. You can expect an initial response up to approximately 3 business days after submission. Please note that some identity data may require Data Custodian approval; if this is the case, the technologist responding to your request will let you know.
